Either or...but I think for this discussion we should stick to sexual / reproductive health...general health for women in collapse might warrant it's own topic.

Agreed.

I agree on both counts Kitty -- women shouldn't be forced to carry a child to term if it was against their will (i.e. rape or incest)

...Also, no form of birth control is perfect... :?

Agreed on both counts, absolutely. And most definitely, no form of birth control is perfect, or can be relied on 100%, depending on the person and the situation.

Unless you want to stockpile condoms...

I'm sure there would be some herbal remedies...might be mistaken, but wasn't there something women would drink in older times which would end the pregnancy in the first trimester?

Wasn't it gin? Well, I think it is the juniper berries in gin that can produce miscarriage.

"Juniper berries (Juniper utahensis) were known to the Shoshone Indians as "Sammapo." Washo Indians: "Paal." Paiute Indians: "Wapi."...Also, they used a tea from juniper berries, taken on 3 successive days, a cupful at a time, for birth control."

Juniper grows all along the coast of North America. Could be something to look further into.

All: Should this be in secret life??

Doesn't have to be in secret life, unless you think posting there will help you or someone else. Thanks for sharing, Kitty!

I am hetero- but definitely no more babies for me! Guess I'll have to keep a good supply of gin in my preps. And a shotglass. And a shotgun.
