Spinners! Weavers! Fiber artists!!!

Hey guys!
thought I'd start a thread about spinning and weaving. Spinning in particular as that's what's occupying my time here lately.
any spinners in the group?
Want to talk wheels, spindles, combs, drum carders, fibers?
maybe looms?
I just got a new wheel. an Ashford Traveler with jumbo flyer. It was on ebay and I needed it so hub got it for me.
It came with the jumbo flyer on it. I'd never used one before and am growing to like it a lot.
It holds a monster amount of yarn!
I had had a wheel just like it years ago but go hard up for bucks and had to sell it. I'd used drop spindles for a long time which I love actually as they are so dang portable, but I missed treadling the wheel. Something soothing about it isn't' there?
My cats love to sit and watch the wheel go 'round. LOL
anyhow, hope there are some spinners in the group and we can talk shop.
I found this image on the web for inspiration for us! :D

Re: Spinners! Weavers! Fiber artists!!!

I'm definitely interested, Pammy. We got a wheel and a loom as part of our long-term preps, but haven't really used either yet.

Could you give me a few hints on preparing the fiber? There are sheep ranchs in the area around the 'stead, and I could use some pointers on the process.

What do I need to process wool from shearing to "ready to spin"? What's the process? Are there any tools you recommend other than carders?

I'm a weaver with two looms and one spinning wheel (Ashford Traveler too). Our guild sale is coming up the first week of Nov.

Whereabouts are you weaver? I still need cards, maybe combs, and a shuttle.
