Wow. I think we need a doom-date / doom-mate thread. Why not? What is there to lose? People do it all the time, like the Life-boat idea. But seriously, it would be even more direct to set up something like this for people looking for a partner-in-doom.

One idea that I have, right off the bat is numero uno obvious. This is the idea of distance. I believe that collectively, for now, we can make that issue disappear. A raffle or a monthly Friday night winner's pot. Donate dollars or donated miles. Tickets to a destination. 3 days. Make a friend or a partner for life. That's all I've got for now.

But, of course, I consider abuse of the system. Minimum, in a slow collapse situation, 6 months' correspondence. We are co-responders, are we not? In a fast collapse, say, I dunno, minimum 3 weeks' courting. Mutual desire to meet is an obvious.
