Shhhhhhh

from a friend, the same friend :D :

Shhhhhhh

Let the mind be quiet
Thought is like a dream, it is an endless projection of subjective views

Shhhhhhh

Let the mind be still
Just as in a body of water when the mind is still a true reflection of what is can then be experienced

One can say that this true reflection is the mystery of life

As the mind is still be aware as an old aspect of consciousness will want to do something with the stillness

Let it BE

Let the stillness BE and in this state of Being enjoy what "happens"

When needing to make a decision, relax and let the mind be quiet, trying to find the answer creates turbulence to the mind, it does not allow a clear reflection to unfold, when you are seeking it is important to realize who is doing the seeking, soon you will realize it is the confused mind that is trying to find clarity. This is not possible, the nature of the mind that is confusion can not find clarity, for its nature is confusion........

Let the issue go, relax the mind and gently bathe the mind in the Presence of stillness, calm peace
As the mind is still.......... be aware an old aspect of self will want to "do" something with this stillness
From this place the water will be clear and an insight will surface

peace
Slow down.... think and live from your heart, that is all that is real

TPTB and MSM and you and i want to have hope... hope is so exhausting. Foster

This is a characteristic of zombies in general, they always manage to look alive no matter what. PM

Re: Shhhhhhh

This is very common, PetroApocaplypse. Maybe you are tired?

If not tired, then falling asleep is also common when you close your eyes to visualize or meditate.

To solve this you can sit on a chair (wooden chair, or any chair that is not soft), or, if you can, sit on the floor with your legs crossed. If that is uncomfortable, sit on the floor on a firm pillow, or two, or three so that you are comfortable.

Then you can set a gentle alarm for just a few minutes. Maybe 3 minutes to begin. Then, over time, as is comfortable for you, gradually increase the amount of time you are sitting. Eventually, with practice, you will be able to sit like this for a half an hour, then even an hour.

Don't worry about thoughts that come up in your mind. If you notice them, acknowledge them... "Hello, thought." And then, let them go away as you redirect your mind to stillness, focus on your breathe only. Breathe in, breathe out naturally. When you focus on your breathe again, the thoughts will go away all by themselves. No controlling required here.

The mind is like a thousand screaming monkeys at first, when you begin this practice. I think of them as funny monkeys, then I go back to focusing on my breath. They go away. But they will quickly return at first

With all the benefits of quiet and stillness, and you won't fall asleep.
