Ron Paul for President

I've been watching the Republican debates and I know what the Democrats have to offer.

While I don't agree with all his stances, Ron Paul is the only candidate I can even come close to endorsing.

On the big issues, he and I agree: First, we need to withdraw our troops from around the world and bring them home.

We need to prosecute those who have defrauded our government and the populace, drastically reduce government spending and learn to live within our means.

We need to audit the Fed and take action against them for criminal acts.

It's glaringly obvious to me that the rest of the candidates, one and all, are imperialists, potential puppets of the big banks, and therefore will doom this nation.

Ron Paul can't win and he won't.

But he has my one and only vote in the primary.

I won't be voting in the final election.

No more lesser of evil bullshit.

Evil is evil and there ain't no lesser.

This pretty much sums up my feelings of the potential candidates. Ron Paul will receive my vote.

.

- Hmmm. If Ron Paul gets elected, we are well and truly boned.

- Not because he'd screw things up.

- Because, the only reason the people running the show will let him get elected is that they know BAU is FUBAR, and he'd be the perfect card to play. By the time President RP takes office, it'll be far too late for him to save the day. (Not to mention the hopeless impasse he'll have with the Republicrat Congress.) After four years of crash and burn, the media will blame it all on "deregulation" and "weak leadership"... And the sheeple will fall all over themselves to elect a full-on Nazi who promises to make the trains run on time and restore order.

Re: Ron Paul for President

A drop in government spending as well as consumer spending will mean a drop in economic "growth." The same goes with the decline of a military force that is one of various factors needed to prop up the petrodollar. Finally, his policies appear to be a continuation of Reagan's voodoo economics, but minus defense spending.

Re: Ron Paul for President

I gave this guy money last go around.

It became really obvious that the GOP would have nothing to do with him.

He was encouraged to run as an independent

He stated that as a Republican, he would only run as a republican.

And again, the GoP isn't interested.

So I sat back and wondered, why is he raising money for another run?

I'll speculate that it's because he likes the money.

IE

I got scammed.

try this one on for size paul:

the planet was endowed with around 3 trillion barrels of oil - we are half way through that and the remaining half is gonna be harder to get at - take more energy to refine - and cost more to buy.

oh - and everything else that requires oil is gonna get a whole lot more expensive - like food - meds - clothing.

this is why paul is a tool....somehow he knows all about the petrodollar, but nothing about peak oil...yeah - ok paul - whatever.

- He's actually right, to a degree. Measuring prices in the inflated fiat currency does give us a warped picture of the situation...

- Of course, the hyperinflation of the currency is actually a result of US Peak Oil. But the old guy can't know everything.

- At least he's not chomping at the bit to get us into another war... Like Obama and all the other GOP candidates.

- I've discussed the libertarian mental block on Peak Oil before.

Re: Ron Paul for President

I think what Paul means is that high prices will prompt people to find replacements for oil, and thus allow for business as usual. The same goes for environmental damage, etc. Hence,

http://www.321gold.com/editorials/taylo ... 31706.html

Put simply, free market capitalism and market forces will solve all problems. Thus, when a business pollutes or treats its workers badly, then customers will patronize businesses that do the opposite. If there's not enough oil or other resources, then science and technology will find other solutions. The only thing that will get in their way is gubermint.

That's why, as I pointed out in the other thread linked by Horsey, Molyneux thinks that peak oil, global warming, and other problems are "false scares."
