That's easy. Go when you feel like going, don't go if you don't feel like it.

The presumption here is that going is a solution, which, if you haven't gone already, it likely won't be.

And if you do want to go, then pull your finger out and get on with it. Procrastination has always been a road to nowhere, in any times.

"Just Do It." The only thing I like about Nike. At the end of the day, endless rumination over anything is a waste of time and thought. It's through our acts that we live our lives, reap our rewards, define ourselves, grow, survive.

I will say this, more specifically, however... if you've been watching all that has been going on in the world over the past decade and are still asking this question, then i think you're viewing all this as some sort of titillating distraction rather than something real and serious. In which case, absolutely, stay right where you are. You're already getting what you came for.

My quote above is really for getting some discussion started, and was not necessarily a question I was asking only for myself. I want to make that clear if it wasn't.

I like your ideas, the Black Hunter. Sometimes situations change, like nuclear power plants blowing radiation, or maybe a person awakens to Collapse more recently than a decade. And not every member will want to think only for themselves: he or she might have a husband or wife and/or children to consider in a relocation. Things change... not all stays equal over time... so this thread is here to allow some discussion for those variables. I do agree, however, that procrastination is no good much of the time. And when you've got your facts straight it's best to "shit or get off the pot".

Alli - yes, i understand it is a thread aimed at all of us.

In eleven years, I have "gone" that is, relocated, four times. I have learned to train workhorses and farm with them, lost a career, started a new one, and am into the throes of a third now. Learned a plethora of other new/old skills. Others I know who don't think this is all some game show have similar stories to relate. Even at that, none of us rate our odds at surviving a full scale collapse very high. So, if all of you, you in general out there, if all you've done since say 2008 is surfed these forums and uttered a few hundred "holy shits!" amongst yourselves and that's it, how high do you rate your odds?

This is serious stuff, preparing for a new paradigm, if you really want to have a chance. Anyone who takes this seriously better get cracking.

It sounds like you have a really good ability to adapt to new situations, which, I think, is going to be extremely important through Collapse.

And , agreed, Get Crackin! if you haven't done so already everyone.

I just haven't had much choice. I'm not one to sit on my ass pondering for too long. Gets boring real fast.
