Post of the Day

Tue May 10, 2011 10:41 pm Oil Price Thread
Al Czervik wrote:

Please excuse me, gentlemen, but I have had a tedious day, just like all the rest of us here. :D

And, Al Czervik, thanks to you, and I can't take credit for the idea, as I have heard it from Roccmann and, I believe, Megadoom, in the past, and probably others here have likewise sayed it or thunk it, but i am now feeling feelings of inspiration, and can see no better time to start a new thread in General Discussion entitled, "Our Daily Quote", keeping in line with some of the bibliclish themes these days (I am atheist, I guess, by default) and if s/o wants to change the title, fine, I don't care, just let me know.

and I think it will be baptised by yours above. I hope you don't mind me taking the liberty to highlight the last part in bold.

This was the highlight of my day

Thoughts? Yah, yah, yah... i know it's a long first one... but someone had to do it :x (i just liked that angry face today :D )

I like your idea, AllisSun. It saves me the trouble of hunting down Rocc to see what his Sig quotes are for the day!! :D

I think Roccmann still gets first dibs on the sigs. He can take them from here if he wants. He deserves some benefits by now, dontcha think? :D

Aaron at PeakOil.com has a thread called "member's quotes". He picks one from time to time and puts it up on the home page.

Two criteria he uses:

1) the quote has to be nominated by another member
2) the link to the thread has to be included where the quote was taken from

I think it is a great idea and happy to see it get some legs here.
I said to my soul, be still, and wait without hope
For hope would be hope for the wrong thing; wait without love,
For love would be love of the wrong thing; there is yet faith
But the faith and the love and the hope are all in the waiting.

Good idea. I was wondering about criteria. So,
1 nominations... do we just post one, and then wait for a second?
2 just cite the thread? or copy/ paste entire post?

Roccman, can you show me an example of how you see it? i would love a visual example :D

All fuel melted w/in hours of water shut off.
The Fuel blew out of the Vessels and out gassed into the concrete w/in seconds
of criticality.

Think the Demon Core

The trick was to keep the beryllium from touching the plutonium core, ... But on that day, Slotin decided to use a screwdriver instead of shims, ... The plutonium core was later named the "Demon Core"

when Slotin was killed in less than a second, with 30 million watts of power released,
or some such Cosmic We can't even fathom Energy.

Like a Main Battle Tank being hit by DU.

The Corium being thru 15 ft of concrete below the RV in seconds...

That's what happened...and we still could get a Real Live Thermonuclear Blast from
one of these Dumps...

Excellent analysis! Phenomenal visual (depeleted uranium tips are nasty bitches to steel and just about everything). Great historical reference to our friend and pal Loius Slotin and his dragon.

Your at least two weeks ahead or more than where TEPCO is on admitting what your saying is true but I'll post the press releases if they do finally reveal some of it in their especially obfuscating public statements.

This unequivocally gets my nomination for POTD!

Mine too, and it's not even 9AM here, as it's gonna be hard to beat this one.
