parodox, alienation, and the pessimistic doomer:New Taboo

I want to start a new sticky entitled as above. I have lots of material to contribute. But I think this might be a good forum to begin it. It kind of goes with The System Of Collapse, but is more specific. I have noticed that this Forum is underused, and wanted to make it a little bit more accessible. So, on that note, I open it up to Hold Space for What might Fill It.

Hi all-is-sun!

Well, to get this party started, I think it might be a good idea to start at the end of the story, since that seems to be the place we doomers or pessimistic doomers are so often inclined to begin: the end. This thread is about the New Taboo. So maybe it would be logical to define the concept by beginning with the key word, "taboo". What does it mean? What is taboo? In the past paradigm, maybe not so necessary, in the current paradigm, absolutely necessary to define, in order to understand the New Taboo.

I have my ideas. I know you do too. My ears are open :D and I have lots of time... relatively speaking.

Ideas? Who wants to step forward first?

 I am doing it again: responding to myself. That's ok. I can deal with that.

Anyhow, Picasso Moon posted this link in the Nuclear Power Plant Crisis thread earlier today, and I was taken immediately by the title of the interview with Beck:

INTERVIEW/ Ulrich Beck: System of organized irresponsibility behind the Fukushima crisis, Asahi, July 7, 2011:

Think about that for a minute: System of Organized Irresponsibility

Maybe the term is a little too forgiving... and should maybe say, "System of Organized Negligence"

Then we might be able to qualify what is happening, not only at Fukushima, but all over the world, as the Oxymoron that best describes this type of irresponsibility.

organized irresponsibility... i need to let the relationship of these words sitting next to one another... sink in...

... ok... now, this sounds like intent. The intent to organize irresponsibly....

knowledge of irresponsible organization... hmmmm

People are mostly lazy, and civilization is hard work.
I've given up on waiting for other people to get it. Now I'm waiting for it to get them.
