new series seeking characters

Hello Oilagers. My production company has a new series in development with a major broadcaster, and we're looking for characters to profile. The series focuses on major shifts that may be on the horizon for humanity. We're interested in profiling people who are preparing for very specific threats, and showing how they are preparing. The narrative includes helping our characters test their preparations and perhaps bringing in experts to help them improve their preparations, as well as some "how-to" segments to help our viewers prepare themselves.

We're interested in all types of people and all types of threats, and we are intent on not judging or challenging specific beliefs -- it's the threat and response we're focusing on. If you have any questions or suggestions for other sources, please contact me at chris@papernyfilms.com.

Seriously, there are a number of quasi-archetypal character types that will be suggested here... such as, hardcore prepper/survivalists (armed to the teeth and living on a doomstead). There will be hippy as well as urban variants. There will be hoarders and sharers ect.

My suggestion is to be careful what you visualize for you will be creating fictional/fantasy representations that will probably not really be right, yet may influence real human behavior... you may find one of your characters at your door one day.

How well prepared are you?

My yellow submarine is pretty much filled to the brim with weed and Chipwiches, so im pretty much ready too. Like rocc said, good luck with that!

That gave us 5 days to respond before you gave up on us :lol:

. We were just busy pondering and prepping. It appears that a Doomer knows more about hurry up and wait than anyone in the film industry....

Sum of us? We been real busy, but we been waitin' years, hehehe....

I'm not going to say who this is yet because they just did a preliminary scout phone interview yesterday, and with luck the producers will pick me up for the show. If the producer decides to go with my story than I'll let you know more about the specifics, but I can tell you it's a major national cable channel.

Crossing fingers because this would be great in getting more people aware.

Did you warn them about swamp ass? I doubt those hollywood types have been in your area!

Goofin aside, good luck. Did they offer any type of $$$? Are you nervous about the exposure? When i was starting our surfboard blank business we were very close to doing a similar show. We had several meetings and everybody was excited for the free exposure. When it came down to signing the papers we just couldnt do it. The cameras where very obtrusive and i was very conerned about privacy. It was under very different circumstances, just passing along some info.

If you want you can pm me with some info. I have a closefriend that work in the business and would be able to check into things for you.
