Even 'if' we did have those "trillions of barrels," it doesn't change the fact that BAU is killing the planet, so we are in effect committing mass suicide in slow motion. Why won't these idiots stop lying and get it through their heads, that this cannot continue???

Because that wasn't how they were trained or raised: to think.

And because their role as rulers rests upon the continuation of BAU.

Sure, but that's called "contradictions."

The situation reminds me of a parallel I see each year...For the masses that don't follow the Peak Oil story or current Financial upheavals, Fukushima, etc. all they look for is some kind of reassurance that their world is ok and not likely to be rocked in the forseeable future and a guy like this with "Prof" in front of his name spouting facts and figures, that essentially sound very soothing to them is all they need, once. That is it, "once" is the key, anyone hearing that, can now comfortably put at rest that question, (just like they did with the two guys who admitted to doing the Crop Circles all those years ago, it amazes me how many people still say "oh didn't you know a couple of guys admitted to it"). I see it here each year with Cyclones, one forms and starts to head toward you and then veers away and once that is reported most people rest easy and go back to normal living and when I tell them a cyclone is heading towards us they say "Oh didn't you know it is heading north now?" and I have to say "Yes well that was three days ago, it is much closer now and about to run over you"! I am astounded at how quickly they put things to bed once they have that "conformation that all is "ok". That is why the guy in this video is dangerous, because he gets to people that will take his message as gospel and will spend not one more second in thought on the matter, it is settled, done and dusted, all okey dokey, BAU.
