Yep! My brother and i grew up on war movies (especially WWII and Korea), and the glory of it. He said he lost it all within minutes of landing in Vietnam while the big air base at which the plane ferrying him and a bunch of other US soldiers from Hawaii was touching down was being shelled.

Tyler Durden, 2/21/12.

As if the market needed another bizarro catalyst to ramp even higher courtesy of an even more pronounced drop in corporate earnings courtesy of soaring energy costs, that is just what it is about to get following news of further deterioration in the Nash equilibrium in Iran, where on one hand we learn that IAEA just pronounced Iran nuclear talks a failure (this is bad), and on the other Press TV reports that the Iran army just started a 4 day air defense exercise in a 190,000 square kilometer area in southern Iran (this is just as bad). The escalation "ball" is now in the Western court. And if Iraq is any indication, after IAEA talks "failure" (no matter how grossly manipulated by the media), the aftermath is usually always one and the same...[The IAEA news is being highlighted at CNN, the New York Times and other MSM sites, likewise the Iranian government "threats" to carry out preemptive strikes]

This is the likely scenario for neutralizing Iran and unless China or Russia sets up a huge laser weapon to defend against it there''s nothing they or Iran can do to stop it.In fact tungsten glows in Light bulbs so I doubt this weapon can be stopped! The Area hit will be a wasteland in Iran's backyard for centuries! Iran better get the into 21st century before they start screwing with The Illuminati. Place the rods atop intercontinental ballistic missiles, which would slow down enough during the downward part of their trajectory tiso avoid vaporizing on impact. ICBMs would also be less expensive and, since they’re stationed on Earth, would take less time to reach their targets.

iSIS said that a cache of telexes to Western high-tech companies from the Physics Research Center in Tehran shows that from about 1990 to 1993, the center sought to purchase equipment and materials that could have been used in weapons research and development

But in a 13-page summary late last year, the IAEA listed clandestine activities that he said can either be used in civilian or military nuclear programs, or "are specific to nuclear weapons."Among these were indications that Iran has conducted high-explosives testing to set off a nuclear charge at Parchin.

Other suspicions include computer modeling of a core of a nuclear warhead and alleged preparatory work for a nuclear weapons test and development of a nuclear payload for Iran's Shahab 3 intermediate range missile - a weapon that could reach Israel.

The IAEA trip and its aftermath was accompanied by renewed saber-rattling by Iran and Israel.

Iranian Gen. Mohammed Hejazi, who heads the military's logistical wing, warned that Iran will "not wait for enemies to take action against us."

Interesting... these same weapons were detailed in the novel 'Footfall' by Larry Niven. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Footfall

About a race of advanced aliens who attempt to conquer earth. They are evolved from elephant-like creatures. Their primary weapons are orbiting platforms of super dense rods they can drop on any target within inches.

Re: Iran Discussion

UPDATE 1-Greek refiner says replacing Iranian oil is easy

Feb 23 (Reuters) - Greek refiner Hellenic Petroleum, which heavily relies on Iranian oil supplies, said on Thursday replacing those deliveries would be "easy" and alternative grades from Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Russia were being considered.

Hellenic needs to find an alternative for Iranian oil before European sanctions kick in on July 1. The Greek refiner said that imports from Iran made up around 30 percent of its oil supply over the year.

Data from Eurostat suggests the proportion may have increased in the latter half, rising to 58 percent in the third quarter.

But Chief Financial Officer Andreas Shiamishis said he did not expect the embargo to present a major issue, although he acknowledged the company was "enjoying open credit terms."

The terms likely to be offered by suppliers of heavy grades that may act as substitutes after July 1 are likely to be far less generous.

A string of outages has already flipped former budget crudes to a premium to light grades and some countries are looking as far afield as South America to replace their Iranian supplies.

Greece's precarious financial situation may present Hellenic with another headache.

In addition to finding suitable grades, traders and analysts say the refiner's limited access to credit may further complicate the process of replacing Iranian crude.

"I tried working on that (supplying Hellenic) but I could not take the risk. It is out of my league," said an oil marketing manager based in London.

this sounds a bit important I think.
Atomic Agency Says Iran Is Making Fuel at Protected Site

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/25/world ... -site.html

International nuclear inspectors reported on Friday that Iran was moving rapidly to produce nuclear fuel at a deep underground site that Israel and the United States have said is virtually invulnerable to attack.
The report by the International Atomic Energy Agency indicated that for the first time Iran had begun producing fuel inside the new facility in a mountain near the holy city of Qum. The agency’s inspectors found in their most recent visits that over the past three months Iran has tripled its production capacity for a type of fuel that is far closer to what is needed to make the core of a nuclear weapon. The report about progress at the new facility is likely to inflame the debate over whether Iran is getting closer to what Israel’s defense minister, Ehud Barak, calls entering “zone of immunity.” The phrase refers to a vaguely-defined point beyond which Iran could potentially produce weapons fuel without fear of an air attack that could wipe out its facilities.

I think the significant thing is that this item is in the New York Times, whose real motto is "All the news that fits." Remember Judith Miller and WMDs in Iraq?

sure do PM.
looks like they are definitely ramping things up.
You know though, I think people are a lot more skeptical this time, i don't think they'll fall for it as easily as they did last time.

What do I think? I think if Israel is allowed to have nukes, then Iran should get them too. And yes, I'd want to keep my facilities as well protected as possible.
