Re: Handgun Questions

I agree here with Doomsday but the 357.SIG caliber is the round I like. Be warn that if you shot a lot of ammo it will cost more and the throat on the barrel will receive more heat.

Because the .357 SIG fires at relatively high pressures, muzzle flash and noise are significant with standard loads, even with longer barrels. Utilizing loads with specialized powders and experimenting with different bullet weights can reduce flash.

Starline is the only company making .357SIG brass at a price that is competitive with other calibers brass.

I´m going to buy the Glock 17.
Alas, regardless of their doom, the little victims play! No sense have they of ills to come, nor care beyond today.

Can't go wrong with a G17... my favorite 9mm is the Sig P226. However, I have started digging revolvers; I think this is what happens when one get's older.

Re: Handgun Questions

Hard to beat a Glock for going bang every time, easy to clean and the 9mm has lots of choices for bullets. Try Corbon or other premium ammo for self defense.

Possible, I just picked up a Super Blackhawk in .44Mag, my first revolver, definitely finding myself leaning more towards wheelguns at the moment. May also just be the challenge of learning them.

Re: Handgun Questions

For the OP,
Look at FN. The FNP in 9 or 40 is being re-branded to FNX so the remaining FNP line is discounted. These are excellent shooters and a top quality polymer. They are available in 10 rnd mags to meet your requirements. As for which, 9 or 40. You really have to ask yourself, am I only going to buy a couple of boxes and call it good, or are you going to shoot, and shoot allot to get muscle memory and build the hand eye coordination... If your only going to buy a couple boxes to save for zombies, then find an exotic caliber and enjoy. If your going to shoot and often, get the 9. In the midwest, 9mm is about 60% of the price 40S&W.

Key is practice! 8-)

Yeah, I saw that new S&W revolver that can shoot .45LC, .45APC, .45GAP, and .410 and said, "I want one of those!" And then wondered if I bumped my head! :?
