Grocery price monitor

I'm going to start this thread on food prices.

Here's the format I want you to use, and only post once a week.

2/12/11 Randolph, VT
Bread - $2.89
Milk - $4.69 (1/2 gallon organic)
1lb hamburger - $6.59 (sirloin)
Eggs - $3.69 (organic, dozen)

Pick 4 common staples you regularly purchase and post them here weekly. Highlight them in bold if you will. That way we can keep a running barometer of commodity (food) inflation.

Also put your location and date.

NOTE: please don't get into discussions about prices, just want the actual data - from around the country.

Prepper staples :)

50 lbs long grain white rice $17.59
25 lbs washed pinto beans $11.49
35 lbs salad oil (100% peanut) $34.53
25 lbs bread flour $7.26

------------------------------

I wish I'd started keeping track of this sooner, I know for a fact that the 50lbs of rice was just $13 and change a few months ago, just for example.

Slow down.... think and live from your heart, that is all that is real

TPTB and MSM and you and i want to have hope... hope is so exhausting. Foster

This is a characteristic of zombies in general, they always manage to look alive no matter what. PM

I stuck with mostly produce, since that was affected by the Mexican freeze.

North Central MT:

Milk $2.59 gal
Peppers (each) $1.50 red and yellow, .69 green
House brand multigrain bread: 1 lb loaf $2.00
Tomatoes on the vine: $2.99 lb
Cauliflower: $1.29 lb
Cucumbers (large): $.89 ea
Nappa cabbage/bok choy: $.99 lb

I don't see much change yet.

Suggestion: Maybe if we each listed the same four or five items, it would make for easier comparison.
