Don't tell ME not to prepare because it's "hopeless." If you don't prepare, then be quick about your dying post collapse. Don't be running around trying to scavenge stuff up last minute. Leave that for me and mine during the salvage age.

I don't know if you're talking about me, but I'd personally consider myself not sufficiently prepared for this eventuality and unlikely to survive.

I don't think there is going to be a nuclear war, but I watch the US/Israel/Palestine/Iran/Arab situation and do sometimes wonder how it is going to end. I don't think people are going to drop nukes to get hold of oil, but they might because of religious/political desperation/injustice.

I wasn't talking about you. But if oil wars do erupt, there is no way to say that for sure they will not escalate to nuke levels.

What got my attention is the recent pervasive "opinion" floating around that all the nuc plants are just looking for a decent opportunity to melt down, like a three day grid-down situation. That assumption leads to the conclusion that if they're so much of a risk, they should all be shuttered immediately. And that smells to me like the next anti-nuclear activism meme. After all, making the industry choke on its own waste isn't working either.
