Here's where I think he'll run the ongoing series of articles from:

I'm surprised the cars cannot fully recharge from a standard outside electrical receptical in one night. I'm sure they could provide some sort of 'fast-charge adapter' like we have for our cell phones and whatnot.

Yes, and especially if you are rural, and are traveling way out there where there is no electricity or electrical receptacles. I guess you could take along a generator, but, then where would you put it? I guess these cars work best in urban areas, like you say, where one is traveling short distances.

Thanks for posting, Targe.

Once they catch on, you'll see a whole raft of gadgets for them. Why they don't all have solar panel roofs, for example, is related to manufacturing costs, but if I'm saving thousands a year on gas, I can build a fund up to afford them.

Re: Canadian newspaper series on owning an electric car

Some folks do a trailer hitch add-on for the Volt (tends to violate warranty) and then others have made a fold-out solar panel light-weight trailer. So you tow to where you want to go -- and then open up the array on the trailer and feed the car.

Like you observed, Targe -- lotsa toys, ahead.

Btw, that is an interesting story.

Thanks for posting it.

Try taking one of the little vehicles with a trailer to a cut block. Throw a cord or three of wood on it. Now that's my kind of humour, !

I thought you all moved your wood a-boot by sluices and large river rafts?

Haahaa... yes, for sure. Works great where there's water available. Hard on life along the way, though.

And here's a website about EV trailers. except the trailers are there for the sole purpose of supplying backup energy, and not for hauling stuff.
