outright highway robbery is perhaps a much more dangerous trade, though heehee.
people Love entertainment. i think any society that spends as much time and money on entertainment as the US currently does will appreciate Any diversion from how things Aint Like they Used to Be. being a singer, musician, storyteller, and yes even juggler would compliment any skill set in our future.
there's many possible scenarios where charisma can save yer butt... i know i'd be slightly less wary of an approaching traveller with a guitar strapped on their back than someone openly armed to the teeth.
someone carrying news or teaching skills would be vital to others trying to survive. being able to effectively offer solutions to people's problems would really come in handy when dealing with people who grew up with convieniences and comfort... most people generally know what they need to do for basic survival, but the devil's in the details.
for example: you could come across a village or family group who is doing well at fending off raiding groups of mbzs... but they don't know how to make soap from scratch and the supply they have from scavenging is almost gone. they need a wood cook stove instead of a tire fire to cook on... they need a handpump on a well... johnny broke his leg and will live, but no one knows how to set the bone...
along comes a stranger, but they dont seem to be too dangerous, they juggle for the kids.... and they have these great ideas on how to solve at least some of the problems. "we can do that with those wood ashes? we can take this junk and make What out of it?"
just if yer gonna travel, look out for them highway robbers!
